Students due to fluctuating

in residential halls at Chittagong University Students at Shah Amanat Hall

At the same time, despite the ban by the hall authorities, many students in the hall are running electric stoves, kettles, and heaters without permission, which is also causing this problem due to the additional pressure on the hall's electrical lines.

Students said that this problem is especially prevalent during the summer. It has become difficult to stay in the room due to low voltage. Many times, there is a problem using the phone due to not being able to charge it, and studies are also disrupted due to the extreme heat due to the fan not working properly.

Abrar Ahad Rafi, a resident student of Shah Amanat Hall,

said, "Often the voltage is so low that the fan does not spin. Even if I put my mobile on charge, it does not charge. The charger has also burned several times. It is becoming unbearable to stay in the hall in this condition day by day."

The students have drawn the attention of the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to resolve this problem.

In this regard, CU Shah Amanat Hall Provost Professor Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam said, "Almost all the halls are facing the same problem. This is not an internal problem of our hall. The problem is from the main electrical line connecting to the hall. We have contacted them about this and are working on it."

He also said that the hall has issued notices

multiple times to prevent the use of electric stoves and heaters in the hall without permission . Even after this, those who are caught using them will be evicted from the hall if they are caught.
