On Monday, May 20, at around 2:15 pm, Sabit Bin Nasim, a student of the Department of Oceanography at Chittagong University, and his friend encountered such a deadly incident. After class, they set off towards South Campus within the university by rickshaw to return home. On the way, to go towards Forestry Road past the South Campus Mosque, they had to cross a bridge-like place with deep ditches on both sides, and there was no defensive boundary along it.

While describing the incident, Sabit said, "Just as the rickshaw was climbing the bridge, a school bus carrying the children of teachers and employees suddenly came from the opposite direction at a very reckless speed and pushed our rickshaw to the edge of the ditch without giving way, even though there was space on the right side. Since there was a ditch below, we faced loss of life. The rickshaw was saved from falling into the ditch by only a few inches."

The most worrying thing is that despite creating such a risky situation, the bus driver did not stop even once, but instead left the scene at a high speed.

Such irresponsible behavior

in traffic inside the university is a serious threat to the safety of students. The students demand that the administration should quickly investigate this incident, take strict action against the driver involved, and take effective steps to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
