Foreign Affairs Advisor Md.

Towhid Hossain said that it is not possible to prevent 'push in' from India in a practical sense. Efforts are being made to see if this problem can be resolved through a process through the existing consular dialogue between the two countries.

The Foreign Affairs Advisor made this statement in response to questions from journalists at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday afternoon.

The foreign affairs advisor said, there is a push in from India. It is not possible to stop it physically (by blocking the border). Letters are being exchanged with India about this. He said, 'We are saying that this should be done according to the procedure. They have said in some cases that many cases (matters) are pending, that Bangladesh is not doing them properly. I have verified that there is a very long list. I have also seen that many have been taken back after verifying according to India's list. So, both sides may have their own statements.'

He said, "We are trying to

see if we can bring the issues under control using consular dialogue. Bangladesh will send a letter to India to ensure that it is done in a regular manner. We have verified the list they gave and taken back the Bangladeshis we found."

Will a protest letter or a diplomatic letter be sent? In response, Touhid Hossain said, "We will send an objective letter. In which we will mention the procedure. We will try to use consular dialogue. This dialogue has not happened for a long time."

Incidentally,

after India began pushing into Bangladesh at the beginning of last month, the country has been sent several letters requesting it to stop.
