'KNF' uniforms seized: 4 arrested

Police have arrested four people, including Tarequl Islam, the younger brother

League leader Abduch Salam, in connection with the recovery of uniforms of the hill armed group 'Kuki Chin National Front' (KNF). They were arrested from the Kalurghat BSCIC industrial area of ​​Chandgaon police station in the city on Monday night.

Tarequl Islam is the director of Well Composite Knit Limited. It is a subsidiary of Well Group, the family business of former MP Abduch Salam. Salam is the founding chairman of Well Group and the treasurer of Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League. He was the chairman of CDA for nine consecutive years during the Awami League period.


The other three arrested are -

Touhidul Islam, Jamalul Islam and Md. Atiqur Rahman. They are officials of various levels of Well Composite Knit. The police have accused them of supplying fabrics for making KNF uniforms. Chandgaon Police Station OC Aftab Uddin confirmed the arrest. They have been handed over to Bayezid Bostami Police Station.

In May, 47,585 pieces of uniforms

and 315 pieces of uniforms were seized in four-phase raids in different areas of Chittagong city. Three cases have been filed in this incident. The police have received the names of 15 people involved. Nine of them have been arrested. Monghlasin Marma alias Mong Marma has been identified as the main mastermind. But the police could not arrest him.
