The accident occurred around 6:30 am on Wednesday (June 4). Abu Jafar, in-charge of the Bhanga Fire Service, confirmed the matter.

He said that five people were killed in a head-on collision between a Mahindra and a Mizan Paribahan bus at Bhanga Chumurdi Bablatla bus stand area in Faridpur around 6:30 am. Three others were injured in the incident.

He also said that the fire service reached the spot around 7 am after receiving the information. Two units from the damaged fire station are working to rescue the victims.

The names and identities of the victims were not immediately known.
