AB Party leaders made this call while submitting a memorandum to Asif Nazrul, advisor to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare, after a meeting on Tuesday.
The delegation, led by the party's general secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, was also attended by AB Party joint general secretary Anwar Sadat Tutul, Barrister Nasrin Sultana Mili, assistant shadow secretary Dr. Javed Iqbal and assistant finance secretary Abu Bakr Siddique.
After the meeting, Asaduzzaman Fuad told reporters,
"We have informed the Expatriate Welfare Advisor that remittances are the main driving force of the country's economy. To continue this, their services must be ensured." The memorandum states that the embassy must ensure the protection, rights and provision of necessary services to all Bangladeshi citizens whose labor and sweat sustain the country's economy. The rights-based political party AB Party believes that identifying and solving the problems of services and the people is the fundamental task of a political party. Therefore, on behalf of all expatriates residing in more than a hundred countries, including Malaysia, we request the interim government to take action as soon as possible with our written recommendations to solve the fundamental and important problems we have identified.
