for 10 days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. However, the movement of passport holders will remain active.

Benapole Port Deputy Director Mamun Kabir Tarafdar confirmed the matter on Tuesday afternoon.

Benapole C&F Agents Association President Shamsur Rahman said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, customs and port activities, including import and export activities from India to this port, will be closed for 10 consecutive days from June 5 to June 14. Customs and port activities, including import and export activities from India, will be operational from the morning of June 15.

According to port sources,

a 10-day holiday has been officially declared on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Import-export, as well as goods unloading activities at customs houses and ports will continue from the morning of June 15. However, passport passenger movement between India and Bangladesh will remain normal.

Benapole Port Director (Traffic) Md. Shamim Hossain said that security measures have been strengthened to prevent any sabotage or untoward incident at the port during the Eid holidays. The port's own security force and Ansar members will patrol the port area day and night. The Benapole Port Police Station authorities have also been informed about the matter. He said that if any importer wants to unload goods during the Eid holidays, they will be released.

OC Ibrahim Ahmed said that although import and export through Benapole land port will be closed during the holy Eid-ul-Azha holiday, the movement of passport-holding passengers will remain normal. It tends to be a little more crowded during this time. That is why immigration officials and employees have been kept on standby.
