Members of Bangladesh Football Ultras
have been sitting on the BFF building for three days, blocking the main door. The Football Supporters Forum has also joined the movement today. The forum held a broom procession in front of the BFF.
Bangladesh will play against Singapore at home in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Before that, Jamal Bhuiyan will play against Bhutan in a friendly match today. Hamza Chowdhury, who played in the English league, will make his home debut with this match. Italy-based expatriate footballer Fahamedul Islam will also make his debut. However, Shamit Som, who came from Canada today, will make his debut in the red-green jersey in the match against Singapore.
Interest in football in the country
has skyrocketed around these matches. 18,300 tickets were released online in nine categories. The lowest price was set at 400 taka. Even then, interest in tickets has not waned. Ticket sales have already ended. However, it is known that general spectators have not received tickets.
This is where the fans' anger lies. An organization called Bangladesh Football Ultras has been holding a sit-in in front of the BFF for the past three days. They are still sitting in front of the federation with banners reading 'No Ultras, No Football', 'Justice for Ultras, Justice for Football Fans', 'Where are the tickets in BFF?', 'I want tickets', etc.
Meanwhile, the Football Supporters Forum,
led by General Secretary Shahadat Hossain, held a protest march with brooms in front of the BFF building today. He said, "We were the ones who kept the game alive by supporting it during the difficult times of football. However, now the general audience is being deprived during the good times. We, the football supporters, are being deprived." Slogans like "I want tickets, give me tickets, otherwise I will throw away my mattress", "Break the black hand of the black market and crush it" were raised in this procession.
