Who has the opportunity to turn

black money into white, asks Rashed Pradhan

Rashed Pradhan, vice-president

and party spokesperson of the National Democratic Party (NDP), has raised this question: Who is the one who will benefit from the opportunity to turn black money into white in the proposed budget for the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year?

He said, "We reject with hatred the opportunity to turn black money into white in the budget. Who is this opportunity for? Who has black money except the Awami League, which has looted the country?"

He made these remarks at the organizational meeting of Jubo Jagpa at the Shafiul Alam Main Auditorium in Paltan on Wednesday (June 4) at 3 pm.

Rashed Pradhan said, "

The mass uprising was created from the movement to eliminate inequality. We expected the government after the mass uprising to publish a detailed plan for employment. But there is no separate announcement for those thousands of job seekers and 2.7 million educated unemployed youth."

At that time, he said, the budget did not meet the expectations of the people regarding reducing the gap between people's income and expenditure, eliminating unemployment and poverty. Although several good initiatives or expectations were mentioned in this budget, the structure in which the budget has been presented is traditional and old. This government had the opportunity to present a different budget, which they did not use. Controlling inflation, increasing investment and employment, increasing revenue collection and eliminating social inequality are one of the biggest challenges of this budget. As always, this time too, the budget has a deficit of Tk 2.26 trillion. Which will be met from bank loans and foreign grants. In other words, foreign dependence has not been reduced in this budget either.

Rashed Pradhan also said that the Tk 100

crore fund for creating new entrepreneurs and reducing the prices of some daily necessities are positive. We welcome the allocation of Tk 405 crore for the martyrs and injured in the July Revolution. However, it must be used properly. We have not seen proper treatment of the fighters in the last 10 months.

Under the chairmanship of Youth JAGPA President Nazrul Islam Bablu and moderated by General Secretary Engineer Md. Sirajul Islam, other speakers included Dhaka Metropolitan JAGPA Convener Shyamal Chandra Sarkar, Workers JAGPA General Secretary Monowar Hossain, Youth JAGPA Organizing Secretary Oliul Anwar, youth leaders Ashiq Molla, Asaduzzaman Noor, Johnny Nandi, and others.
