Severe traffic jams are being created at 12 points

on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway during t

he Eid pilgrimage in Comilla. Along with the highway police, the army, district police, RAB and local administration have been deployed at these traffic-prone points. However, despite these activities, intermittent traffic jams and vehicle jams were seen on the highway throughout the day and at 12 points.

People heading home for Eid have been suffering due to traffic jams at these points along the 103-kilometer stretch of the Comilla section of the highway since Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, the police administration

has informed that, utilizing the experience of the last Eid-ul-Fitr, a coordinated effort is being made to ensure a safer, more comfortable and uninterrupted journey on the highway this time.

It has been found that regular traffic jams are being created at Daudkandi's Gouripur Bazar and Elliotganj Bazar on the Comilla section of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, Chandina's Madhaiya Bazar and Chandina Bazar (Bagur Bus Stand), Burichang's Nimsar Bazar and adjacent Munshir Bazar, Sadar's Mainamati Cantonment intersection and Alekharchar, Sadar South's Paduar Bazar, Suyaganj Bazar and Kotbari U-turn, and Chauddagram Bazar.

These 12 spots usually have heavy

traffic congestion, which affects the entire highway. Ahead of this Eid, the Highway Police, District Police and District Administration are working together at these spots to ensure smooth travel of people to and from their homes.

This coordinated initiative is playing a role in preventing robberies, snatching, and extortion in animal transport on the night highways, along with facilitating the Eid pilgrimage. The army is present at important spots on the highway to maintain order.
