Public Works Advisor gives Khaleda

The government has delivered the title deed to BNP

Chairperson Khaleda Zia's Gulshan house.

On Wednesday night, Housing and Public Works Ministry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan handed over the title deed to Khaleda Zia. Public Works Ministry Secretary Nazrul Islam and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartik (RAJUK) Chairman Riazul Islam were present. Khaleda Zia's private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar told reporters that Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan and officials from the ministry met. They stayed for about half an hour. It was a courtesy meeting. Regarding the handover of the title deed to the house, he said that the advisor came with some papers. He gave them to her. However, he did not know what kind of papers they were.

It is known that after the death of Ziaur Rahman on May 30, 1981, while he was the President, his wife Khaleda Zia was allotted the house located on one and a half bighas of land in the capital's Gulshan area. The house is near the house named 'Firoza' where Khaleda Zia lives in Gulshan. Apart from this, another house was also allotted to Khaleda Zia inside the Dhaka Cantonment. However, the previous Awami League government cancelled the allocation of the house in the cantonment.

Government sources said that

the house in Gulshan is under the control of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. However, it was not registered in her name. The house was registered in Khaleda Zia's name after the interim government took office.

Public Works Ministry sources said that the government has already completed the process of transferring the name of Khaleda Zia's house. The government wanted to officially hand over the registration paper to Khaleda Zia. But due to Khaleda Zia's physical condition, this formality was delayed.
