Small and medium cows are sold more

in Comilla, but large cows are disappointed

Small and medium-sized cows are being

sold more at the cattle market in Comilla. Cows worth 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh taka are being sold. However, sellers are facing a problem with large-sized cows, such as Saiwal Beresh and Abal.

Cows were sold in more than a hundred markets in the district on Wednesday. However, mixed reactions were observed between buyers and sellers in the markets. Leaders claim that the price of cattle in the market is high this time. And sellers claim that the price of cattle is very low this time.

Visiting several markets in the district, it was seen that the cattle and goat markets are crowded with buyers and sellers of cattle shouting and bargaining. People are buying their favorite animals for sacrifice in a festive atmosphere. All in all, the atmosphere of Eid has descended on the markets in Comilla. However, there are mixed reactions among buyers and sellers regarding the prices.

Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Azhar is only 2 days away.

In the meantime, farmers, traders and marginal farmers are rushing to the markets in the hope of making a little profit. However, the price of large-sized cattle has decreased in the market, while the price of medium and small-sized cattle is fluctuating.

On Wednesday, when visiting Punora Bazar in Debidwar Upazila of the district and Kangshnagar Bazar in Burichang Upazila, it was seen that smaller and mazari cows were being sold more than large cows.

On the other hand, people from Dhaka, Chittagong and other districts are coming to buy their preferred animals in the border district of Comilla, hoping that the price of sacrificial animals is low. They are happy to be able to buy cows at a fair price.

There are 409 livestock markets, both permanent and temporary, in Comilla. They are also crowded with cattle and goats. The cattle and goat buying and selling festival is going on from morning till night in these markets.

The crowd of people, the haggling and the

shouting of the vendors all combine to make the Eid atmosphere already present at the market. However, the star of the market is the medium-sized indigenous cattle. These cows are not only attractive to look at, but also relatively expensive.

Medium and small-sized cattle dominate every market. However, the supply of large-sized cattle was not far behind. In addition to the cows of nearby farmers and farmers who raised them personally, they also brought cows from far and wide to the markets.

Afzal Hossain, a wholesale cow seller

in Punora Bazar, said, "This time, small and Mazari cows are being sold more in the market. I brought 12 cows of the Saiwal breed to the market. I could not sell a single one. Buyers are asking prices much lower than the purchase price."
