Proposal to recruit 8,000 ASIs

It has been proposed to recruit about 8,000 new personnel

forunarmed posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector

(ASI) in Bangladesh Police. According to the proposal of the Police Headquarters, half of these posts (50 percent) will be filled through direct recruitment and the remaining half through promotion.

In a letter in this regard, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (Recruitment and Career Planning-1) Md. Abul Hasan mentioned that preparations will be made to implement the ASI (Unarmed) recruitment process in a proper manner, subject to government approval.

The letter further said that this

appointment is very important to strengthen the organizational structure of the police to maintain law and order in the country and ensure public safety. The appointment proposal has already been sent to the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Public Administration and various related departments.

There are also plans to conduct

special examinations for constables and naiks interested in promotion. The application process and examination schedule will be announced online later.

If approved, this will be one of the largest recruitment drives of the Bangladesh Police in recent times, which is expected to play an important role in increasing the capacity of the force.
