Police have recovered the body of
a mason named Rashidul Islam Rasu (35), son of Abu Sayeed of Bhoinagar village in Bangala union of Ullapara upazila, Sirajganj, seven days after he went missing. He is the son of Abu Sayeed of Bhoinagar village in Bangala union of Ullapara upazila.
Ullapara Model Police Station recovered his half-decomposed body around 1 pm on Thursday.
According to family sources, Rashidul received a call from an unknown number on his mobile phone after Isha prayers on May 30. After that, he left the house and never returned. The family members contacted relatives and acquaintances but were unable to find him.
On Thursday morning, around 9 am,
locals started investigating after a foul smell emanated from an abandoned house nearby. Later, they found a sack of feces in the toilet tank of the deceased Abdus Salam's house, which had been vacant for many days. Upon receiving the news, Rashidul's family went to the spot, opened the sack and identified his body.
The deceased's father, Abu Saeed, said,
"My son was known as a good person in the area. He had no enmity with anyone. We do not understand who or what killed him so brutally." Rashidul has a daughter and a son. Daughter Rafia is 6 years old and son Yusuf is only 5 months old.
