July charter must be formulated before

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said

National Citizens Party firmly believes

that a sustainable democratic path can only be established based on popular aspirations and structural reforms. In this context, the formulation and publication of the 'July Charter' before the announcement of the election date is very important. Because this charter is not only a policy document, but also our moral responsibility towards those who took to the streets in the July Movement and gave their lives for the dream of change.

A delegation led by NCP convener Nahid Islam paid a courtesy call on the Chinese ambassador in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting was held to discuss the deep national and international interest in the country's democratic journey and reform process, as well as the changing and ongoing political context of Bangladesh. He said these things during the meeting.

Nahid Islam noted that this 'July Charter'

will lay a clear foundation for the July Movement's electoral reforms, independence of the judiciary, and inclusive political participation, and will serve as a guide for future politics.

He further said that Bangladesh is now at

an important juncture—in this context, the NCP is closely monitoring the government's steps and the activities of other political parties and hopes that the process of formulating and announcing the 'July Charter' will not be delayed any further and will be implemented as soon as possible with due sincerity—so that the sacrifices of the martyrs and the desire to restore democracy will be fulfilled.
