Dialogue between NCP and Chinese

Ambassador on Democratic Transformation and Reform Process

A dialogue was held between the National

Citizens Party (NCP) and Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen on the democratic transformation and reform process in Bangladesh. The meeting took place on Wednesday following a formal invitation sent by the Chinese Embassy. This information was given in a press release of the NCP today.

A delegation led by NCP convener Nahid Islam paid a courtesy call on the Chinese ambassador in Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting was held to discuss the deep national and international interest in the country's democratic journey and reform process, as well as the changing and ongoing political context of Bangladesh.

The meeting saw a cordial and forward-

looking discussion between the NCP leaders and the Chinese ambassador. The delegation presented their vision for Bangladesh's inclusive democratic transformation and highlighted the structural challenges affecting political stability.

Convener Nahid Islam said,

"The National Citizens Party firmly believes that a sustainable democratic path can only be established based on popular aspirations and structural reforms. In this context, the formulation and publication of the 'July Charter' before the announcement of the election date is very important. Because this charter is not only a policy document, but also our moral responsibility to those who took to the streets in the July Movement and gave their lives for the dream of change."
