Old man loses Qurbani money due to

Shahidullah Dhanu, a 65-year-old man, had withdrawn money

from the bank to buy a sacrificial animal.

However, the old man lost that money. A gang took the money he had withdrawn from the bank in broad daylight. The gang took the money by tricking him into giving him 'devil's breath' (scopolamine) through a handshake, disguised as a familiar face.

The incident took place in front of the oil mill in Basurhat Bazar, Basurhat Municipality, Noakhali on Wednesday morning.

The victim, Shahidullah, is a resident of Ismail Pandit House in Ward No. 2 of Charhazari Union.

, "After withdrawing money from the Islami Bank Basurhat branch, I was passing by the road in front of the oil mill. At that time, a stranger greeted me and shook my hand. In the meantime, the man took away the 50,000 taka of Qurbani cash I had with me. 20 minutes after I went to Baghi, I realized that he had taken the money."

OC Gazi Muhammad Fouzul Azim said, "We have heard about the incident. These gangs usually come from other areas, commit crimes and escape quickly. We are trying to identify and arrest these criminals."
