Sacrificial animal markets are bustling in

In just a day, one of the most important festivals of Muslims

Eid-ul-Azha or Eid-ul-Adha, will be celebrated.

In the meantime, the sacrificial animal market has been filled with people. Buyers are rushing to the market to buy their favorite animals according to their ability. Many are returning home after bargaining and buying their favorite cows. Sellers are happy as the number of buyers is increasing. On the other hand, buyers are also satisfied with the price of sacrificial animals this time.

Talking to buyers and sellers who visited various markets in the capital on Thursday (June 5), it was learned that the price of cattle is lower this year compared to last year. Sellers claim that cows are available at a price of 20-30 thousand taka per lakh this year compared to last year. Buyers also said that it is possible to buy cows at a slightly lower price this year compared to last year.

Apart from cows, different breeds of khasi, buffalo, goats and sheep are available at the market. Camels and donkeys are also seen here and there. Meanwhile, the business of big cattle has declined. Big cattle traders are worried as the demand has decreased a lot this year compared to other years.

Traders and farmers say that

there is a high demand for medium and small-sized cows at the market. Although large cows are at a bargain price, they are selling less. As a result, most of these cows will have to be returned this time.

This time, livestock markets have been set up in 21 places in the capital. Among them, when I went to the temporary livestock market in Merul Badda, I saw that there was a crowd at the market to buy cows even before 10 am. Since the livestock market was not set up in Aftabnagar and Meradia this time, residents of Rampura, Banasree, Badda and surrounding areas are rushing to the Merul Badda market.
