Toll collected on Jamuna Bridge worth Tk

Traffic pressure on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway has increased

occasion of Eid. In the last 24 hours,

51,849 vehicles have crossed the Jamuna Bridge. A toll of 3.59 crore 83 lakh taka has been collected.


Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, Executive Engineer of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office, confirmed this matter on Thursday morning.


The Jamuna Bridge Authority said that 51,849 vehicles crossed the bridge in the 24 hours from 12:00 am on Tuesday to 12:00 am on Wednesday. Of these, 30,845 vehicles headed to North Bengal crossed the bridge. A toll of 184,97,350 taka was collected. On the other hand, 21,04 vehicles headed to Dhaka crossed the bridge. A toll of 174,85,650 taka was collected.


Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, executive engineer

of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office, said that the pressure of vehicles on the highway has increased. 18 toll booths, 9 each on the east and west sides of the Jamuna Bridge, and 4 booths for motorcycles have been set up. Two wreckers have been arranged in case of any accident on the bridge. In addition, the section from Elenga to Jamuna Bridge is being monitored through CCTV around the clock.
