Keeping in mind the slogan 'It's time to ban plastic',

the Sonargaon Upazila Environmental Protection and Development Society has organized various programs, including banning plastic products and polythene and planting trees, to protect the balance of the environment.

On Thursday,

rally and tree plantation program was held to protect the environment at the Mograpara intersection in Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj on the occasion of Environment Day.

At this time, various socio-cultural organizations including the District Environment Department, Mission Green Bangladesh, Green and Clean Sonargaon, and Bela Sangstha declared solidarity with the Environmental Protection and Development Society.

Among others present at the event were

Environment Protection and Development Society Chairman Mohammad Hossain, President and Convener Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, Secretary General Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Journalist Md. Shahjalal, Journalist Md. Moktar Hossain and various leaders.

Later, saplings of various fruit and forest trees were planted in the area at the local Mograpara intersection. Various medicinal trees including mahogany, mango, jam, shimul, karai, jackfruit and forest trees were distributed free of cost to the public.

Earlier, a colorful rally was taken out to celebrate World Environment Day. The rally circled various roads in the upazila.
