Abul Ahsan Jabur, the joint coordinator of the Sylhet district

committee of the National Citizens Party

(NCP) and brother of journalist ATM Turab, who was killed in July, has resigned. He submitted his resignation to the organization's chief coordinator on Thursday. Nine people have resigned from the NCP in Sylhet over this.

Jabur mentioned in his resignation letter that he is the joint coordinator of the NCP Sylhet district committee. Due to his personal and family commitments, he is unable to devote time to the party's activities. Therefore, his current position does not fall under the new political party's arrangements. He mentioned that he voluntarily and consciously resigned. Jabur confirmed his resignation to Samakal around 11 pm on Thursday.

Recently, there have been repeated

resignations of NCP leaders and activists in Sylhet after the committee was announced. Local sources said that they resigned for various reasons, including not getting the desired positions and being placed on the committee without informing them.

The day after the committee was announced

on July 12, four leaders resigned from the Bishwanath and Gowainghat Upazila Committees. Among them, member Fahim Ahmed and joint coordinator Nadim Mahmud resigned from the Gowainghat Upazila Committee, and joint coordinator Ruhul Amin and member Shahed Ahmed resigned from the Bishwanath Upazila Committee. In addition, four more leaders resigned from the Gowainghat Upazila Committee on July 21. They are joint coordinator Enamul Haque Maruf, members Tariqul Islam, Kibria Ahmed and Kamrul Hasan.
