He committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a multi-storey building in Mumbai's Bandra area on Wednesday (September 11) morning.

According to Indian media, Bandra Police and Crime Branch teams have already reached the spot. Along with that, the body has been sent for autopsy. According to the preliminary investigation, Malaika's father committed suicide. However, no suicide note has been recovered so far. Even why he took such a step is not clearly known. The police have started an investigation to find out the details.

Meanwhile, Malaika's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan quickly rushed to the scene after hearing the shocking news.

Incidentally, Malaika's father was working in merchant navy. When Malaika was 11, her parents divorced. Since then, Malaika and her sister Amrita lived with their mother.
