Jumbangla Desk: The National Directorate of Consumer Rights has fined 42,000 rupees to five vendors of Karwan Bazar in the capital for selling hilsa fish at high prices.

On Wednesday (September 25) at the Dhaka district office of the Consumer Directorate, Assistant Director Md. Assistant Director of Abdul Jabbar Mandal and Head Office. This was fined in an operation led by Magfur Rahman.

In the campaign, the traders are instructed to save cash memos for purchase and sale of hilsa fish in the future.


On the other hand, raids were conducted in Jatrabari's hilsa market and wholesale market. During the operation, it is seen that more than 200 traders are selling one and a half kg hilsa at 1800 taka, 1 kg hilsa at 1600 taka, 800 gram size hilsa at 1450-70 taka, 500 gram size hilsa at 900 taka per kg.

Besides, commission agents at the wholesale level were seen selling at a commission of three percent. At this time, no businessman could show the receipt.

Hilsa traders have been verbally warned about these issues. Besides, instructions have been given to sell hilsa at a reasonable price, display the price list in a visible place and preserve the related vouchers.
