Jumbangla Desk: Action will be taken against the BCS officials who were appointed on the basis of party considerations during the Awami League government's tenure, said Lieutenant General (retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Home Affairs Adviser of the Interim Government.

On Saturday (October 19) afternoon, he visited the BGB headquarters in Rajshahi. After the visit, the Home Affairs Advisor said this in response to a question from the journalists.

Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the fascist Awami League government has appointed many people for the last 15 years. Some of them got jobs based on merit. And some party considerations. Therefore, necessary action will be taken in the case of those who have got the job as per party consideration.

In response to another question, the Home Affairs Adviser said that 187 officers did not join the police force after the student uprising on August 5. So they are no longer police, they are terrorists. They will be arrested and brought to justice soon.

He also said at that time that as the arrest warrant against Awami League President and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been issued by the International Anti-Humanity Tribunal, action will be taken in accordance with the existing agreement to bring her back from India.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that the government does not have any information about Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader. However, the Home Affairs Adviser announced a reward if investigative journalists can track him down.

At that time, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, BGB Additional Director General (GS Branch) Brigadier General Sohrab Hossain Bhuiyan and other top officials of BGB were with him.
