In 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed youngster Rinku Singh for Rs 55 lakh. For Rinku, who came from a financially poor family, that money was equivalent to getting the moon in hand. After seven years, KKR spent 13 crore rupees to retain that Rinku in IPL 2025.

When Rinku got his first chance in Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team, he was an absolute batsman. That Rinku is very mature now. Not only KKR, he is now the trusted name of the Indian national team as well. So his skyrocketing price in IPL is not surprising at all.

Rinku's first reaction to the news that he has been retained by KKR for Rs 13 crore was, 'Picture abhi baki hai (the movie is still left)'.

Which in Bengali means, 'Our love story has just begun, there is still a lot left, friends'.

Incidentally, this line was written by Rinku in accordance with a dialogue in the film 'Om Shanti Om' by Shahrukh Khan, one of the owners of KKR.

Rinku, who has performed brilliantly in IPL, has scored 893 runs in 46 matches so far. His batting average is 30.79, strike rate is 143.33. This marquee batsman mainly played as a finisher in KKR.
