In a post on his Facebook account on Saturday night, Akhtar said that strong resistance will be mounted against those who shelter the Jatiya Party.

Akhtar wrote in his post, " The Jatiya Party,

which has played a despicable role as an ally of Awami fascism by deceiving the people of the country, posing as a homegrown opposition party and killing democracy, is heating up the situation in Rangpur. Whoever or whoever shelters this Jatiya Party, who raises his hand against the anti-discrimination fighters as per the words of the Jatiya Party, will be strongly resisted. Long live the revolution."
