The supply of new banknotes has
started from June 1, 2025 , which are available in various commercial banks of the country from today, June 2 .
New currency notes: Banks where they will be available from today
Although the distribution started on a limited basis from the Motijheel office of Bangladesh Bank on the first day, the new notes are now available at specific branches of 10 more commercial banks . These banks are:

The new notes have been supplied to the local offices of each bank and will be distributed to customers starting today. However, the exact notes available at each branch will depend on the bank concerned.
The notes that will be available now
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur has signed a new series of 1,000, 50 and 20 taka notes in the market. It is reported that a total of 200 crore taka notes have been printed. This money will mainly be distributed to banks, while the rest will be exchangeable at Bangladesh Bank's own branches.
Will the current currency remain?
Bangladesh Bank said that along with the new notes, all types of paper and metal coins currently in circulation will remain in circulation. As a result, anyone can also use the previous notes if they wish.
More notes coming in the future
Bangladesh Bank officials said that newly designed banknotes of 5, 10, 100, 200 and 500 taka will be printed immediately after Eid and will be supplied to the market in stages.
According to Bangladesh Bank , their main customers are commercial banks. Therefore, the new notes have been supplied directly to the banks.
