Jumbangla Desk: Local students and people arrested the couple from the room of Anwar Parvez, joint convenor of Chhatra Dal of Islami University. The incident took place on Wednesday (October 16) around 11 pm at the Tinbon dormitory located next to Bangabandhu Hall. Both the arrested are university students. The boy is Fouad of the marketing department of the academic year 2021-22 and the girl is a student of finance and banking department.

According to eyewitnesses, electricity was off in the hostel area from 4 pm that day, as a result of which the place was plunged into darkness. A student named Alamin of Marketing Department of 2019-20 academic year lives there. Fuad goes to Alamin's room with his junior daughter. Later, the boy went outside and when a ruckus broke out, the students came and arrested the girl. Later Fuad was also arrested.

When the mess owner's people arrived, the girl was taken to his house for safety. On the other hand, the students want to hand over Fuad and the girl to the administration. But Mizanur Rahman, the brother of the mess owner, tries to oust Fuad, which causes anger among the students. Ashraf Uddin, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, came forward to bring the situation under control.

The girl said that she lives in Noor Jahan student mess. Fuad took her to the mess and asked her to go to the washroom while going out. He reveals that they have a love affair.

Fuad said they went to the market for food and later when the girl wanted to go to the washroom, he asked her to go to the washroom of the hostel. However, students of the mess alleged that Fouad took the key from Alamin and entered the room.

Mizanur, the brother of the owner of the mess, said that the incident was unexpected. He does not know how Fuad came here.

In this regard, Anwar Parvez said, he is in Dhaka and used to visit the mess regularly during his stay in the campus. However, he does not consider himself associated with this incident.

Masud Rumi Mithun, member secretary of the branch Chhatra Dal said, necessary measures will be taken after verifying the truth of the incident.

Proctor Professor Dr. Shahinuzzaman said that they have sat with the president and proctorial board of both departments and punishment will be taken based on the crime.
