In the 15th over of the Punjab Kings innings, batter Shashank Singh hit a big shot to long-on off a delivery from Delhi bowler Mohit Sharma. Delhi fielder Karun Nair tried to catch the ball near the boundary line and later indicated that it was a six.

The third umpire reviewed and decided that Karun Nair's foot did not touch the boundary line, so it was not a six but counted as just one run.

However, after the match,

Preity Zinta expressed her displeasure on social media and wrote, 'In such a high-profile tournament, where the third umpire has so much technology, such a mistake is unacceptable. I spoke to Karun Nair after the match and he confirmed that it was definitely a six! I have finished my statement!'

The defeat has put Punjab Kings'

chances of finishing in the top two in jeopardy. They will now have to beat Mumbai Indians in their final league match and rely on the results of their other matches.
