97 more Palestinians killed in 24 hours

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 97 more Palestinians

were killed and 440 injured in Israeli

attacks by the occupying forces in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll in the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to 54,607.

Al Jazeera reported this information on Wednesday, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.

The ministry also said that the bodies of two more people who had been buried under rubble in previous attacks and who had not previously been counted as dead had been recovered.

Meanwhile, Israel has killed 4,335 Palestinians and injured 13,300 since the ceasefire was broken in March this year.

The Gaza Health Ministry also

stated that a total of 125,341 people have been injured in Gaza so far during the Israeli aggression that began on October 7, 2023.

However, Gaza's government media office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble were believed to be dead.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has warned starving Palestinians in Gaza not to approach a US-backed aid distribution center run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

According to them, the center

will be closed for a full day for 'reform, restructuring and skill development work'.

The United Nations Security Council is set to vote on a resolution calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza, but it faces a US veto.

Essentially, these new death toll figures and the use of aid as a weapon of war have made the horror of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza even clearer.
