International Desk: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has expressed gratitude to China, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for helping to stabilize Pakistan's economy. Services Public Relations (ISPR) gave this information in a statement on Friday.

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday approved a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to Pakistan. In a statement, IMF Pakistan Mission Chief Nathan Porter said that China, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have assured significant financing to Islamabad. Which is linked to the country's $7 billion bailout package.


The army chief on Friday visited the Karachi corps area, where he was briefed on the operational readiness and key training initiatives being undertaken by the army. Later, the army chief also interacted with the business community of Karachi.

General Munir appreciated the contribution of the business community and entrepreneurs in the country's economic growth, ISPR said. The participants expressed confidence and appreciated SAFC's role in achieving positive economic indicators, providing an enabling environment to achieve further economic growth.

The ISPR statement further said, 'Brother and friendly countries especially China, Saudi Arabia and UAE have helped us in multiple domains in Pakistan's economic recovery which is commendable. Given the immense wealth and potential, Pakistan will achieve its rightful place in the community of nations, Insha'Allah.'
