Shohag on the way to Khaleda Zia's

Sohag Mridha, a well-known farmer from Patuakhali,

has set off for Dhaka's Gulshan with

a Friesian bull to present as a gift to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. He left for Dhaka with a well-equipped convoy from Subidkhali Bazar in Mirzaganj Upazila at around 10 am on Thursday.

The 35-ton bull is 10 feet long and 5 feet 4 inches wide. Farmer Sohag has named the cow 'Kalo Manik' as a hobby. The cow has become known by this name among the locals for its dark black color.

Hundreds of people had gathered at

Sohag's house since morning to catch a glimpse of the bull. Later, at the request of locals, Kalo Manik was taken on a journey through various roads of the upazila town and set off for Dhaka.

The arrangements for the trip to Dhaka with Kalo Manik include a colorful procession with three well-decorated trucks, a band party, and a sound system. Sohag Mridha is accompanied by her son and about fifty companions.

Sohag Mridha said, "I raised Kalo Manik

like my own child. I want to take him to Dhaka myself and present him as a gift to Begum Zia. I just want my leader to accept my gift. And that's what makes me happy."

Amragachhia Union BNP President Rafiqul Islam said, 'Sohag is my nephew. This cow is the last asset of his family. He is taking the cow as a gift for our leader. This is an expression of the emotions of a worker. Even after explaining it to him many times, he does not want to understand. Therefore, we all request that our compassionate mother and leader of all of us, Khaleda Zia, accept the gift.'
